Originally from Cuba, Dr. Osvaldo Fajardo completed his undergraduate studies at Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana. He graduated Magna Cum Laude with Honors in Biology in 1983. He obtained his medical degree, Alpha Omega Alpha, from the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine in San Juan, Puerto Rico in 1987. Dr. Fajardo completed both his internship and residency at the Veteran Administration Medical Center in San Juan by 1990. He completed his fellowship in gastroenterology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School of Dallas in 1994. He remained in the Faculty at UT Southwestern doing post-graduate work in Molecular Biology for two years. He went into private practice joining Texas Digestive Disease Consultants in 1996. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physician and the American College of Gastroenterology. He is also a member of several other professional associations including the American Gastroenterological Association, the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and the Texas Society of Gastroenterology and Endoscopy. He has served as Chief of Medicine and Chief of Staff at Medical Center of McKinney. Dr. Fajardo is married with two children. His interests outside of the office include physical fitness, watching sports, traveling the world, music and reading.
