Dr. Stephen Lacey

Dr. Stephen Lacey was born and raised in Independence, Missouri. He did his undergraduate studies at Central Missouri State University and received his medical degree from Washington University in St. Louis. Dr. Lacey completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of Alabama in Birmingham and stayed an extra year as Chief Resident. Next, he did his subspecialty training in gastroenterology and a postdoctoral fellowship in molecular biology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. Dr. Lacey spent 10 years on the gastroenterology faculty at UT-Southwestern before entering private practice at Texas Digestive Disease Consultants in Grapevine. Dr. Lacey is the former Chief of Medicine and Chief of Staff of the Baylor Regional Medical Center in Grapevine. He is board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology and is a member of the American Gastroenterological Association. His areas of special clinical interest include colorectal cancer prevention, hereditary colon cancer syndromes, inflammatory bowel disease, and GERD. Dr. Lacey's outside interests include anything with his wife and three children, water skiing, sailing, camping with the Boy Scouts, teaching Bible studies, traveling, and running. Dr. Lacey finished both the Cowtown and the White Rock Lake marathons in 2002.
