Dr. Allen W. Rubin

Dr. Allen Rubin is originally from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and began his career in medicine at Thomas Jefferson University in 1967. Following an internship and residency at the University of Pittsburgh, he continued his training by completing his residency and succeeding fellowship in gastroenterology at the University of Pennsylvania in 1972. He then obtained board certification in internal medicine and gastroenterology. After two years in the US Air force, he settled in Dallas with his wife and two children. Here, he became director of the gastroenterology department at St. Paul University Hospital until 2004. During this period, he held the position of clinical professor of medicine at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School and served as president of the medical staff at St. Paul University Hospital. He was a member of the St. Paul Hospital board of trustees for six years. Dr. Rubin continues his practice of gastroenterology and liver disease with Texas Digestive Disease Consultants at the Tuscan Professional Building in Las Colinas, Texas. He believes that patient education alongside his own professional growth will ultimately lead to more positive medical outcomes.
