| Dr. William E. Stevens
Dr. William E. Stevens was raised in San
Antonio, Texas. He completed his undergraduate education
at Texas Tech University and graduated Magnum Cum Laude
in 1983 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology
and a minor in Chemistry. He continued his medical studies
here in Dallas, attending the University of Texas Southwestern
Medical School, and graduating with his Medical Degree in
1987.
He continued his medical training in St. Louis, Missouri
at Washington University School of Medicine and Barnes Hospital
where he completed his internship and residency in 1990,
and served as Chief Resident at the John Cochran V.A. Medical
Center. Dr. Stevens returned to Dallas for his Gastroenterology
and Hepatology Fellowship at the University of Texas Southwestern
Medical School and Parkland Memorial Hospital, with an additional
Fellowship in Advanced Therapeutic and Biliary Endoscopy
completed in 1994. Dr. Stevens entered private practice
as a Gastroenterologist in 1994.
Dr. Stevens is currently on staff at Presbyterian Hospital
of Dallas. He has Board Certifications in both Gastroenterology
and Internal Medicine, and is a member of the American College
of Gastroenterology, Texas Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy,
American Medical Association, Texas Medical Association,
and Dallas County Medical Society. Dr. Stevens’ special
interests in gastroenterology include colon cancer screening,
liver diseases, gastroesophageal reflux disease and therapeutic
endoscopy.
Dr. Stevens is married and has two children, a son and a
daughter. They all enjoy many outdoor activities together
especially fishing, camping and backpacking.
